“The Strategic Partnership Agreement (SPA) and Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA/FTA) between the EU and Japan are legally-binding agreements under negotiation that foresee various political, global and sectorial cooperation fields. As a highly developed economy and a major global trader and investor, Japan is an important partner for the EU. Agreements mark a turning point for an ambitious upgrade of political and economic relations between the EU and Japan.”

Conference will, at the highest level, bring together government and political representitives, experts and entrepreneurs with the goal to present current developement and details aout agreements between the EU and Japan.

First session of the conference aims to bring an understanding of the Strategic Partnership Agreement to general public. Session will present main topics of the SPA and will evaluate why social cooperation on a number of key political and security issues with Japan is needed.

Second session of the conference is devoted to the evaluation of the Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA/FTA). Current stage of negotiations, trade relations, possible European concerns with outcomes and future opportunities for Slovenia are to be discussed.
